At the December Board meeting the Board of Peel Town Commissioners agreed to freeze the town rate for the second year at 257p in the pound for the forthcoming 2018/19 financial year. This rate pays for the provision of the Commissioners’ service except for refuse services. The refuse rate which pays for domestic waste collection, domestic waste disposal and civic amenity site costs will increase from £170 per property to £174.00 per property from 1 April 2018. This 2.35% increase is required to meet the inflationary increase in costs incurred by the Commissioners over a two year period for the disposal of domestic waste and its collection.
