I am 70 and have lived on the Island for 37 years. Initially we bought a 17 bed guest house in Douglas which we ran for 4/5 years until it became obvious that the decline in tourism would not be reversed.
I then built swimming pools for some 15 years and employed up to 10 people at times. I then assisted my son in law with his agriculture firm.
I then worked at Westlands for 8 years. I am now retired. I have 2 children and three Island born grandchildren.
I decided to try and put something back into the community and thought that joining the Commissioners would be a way of acheiving this aim. Like most of the Peel area population I feel we need more investment, jobs, better parking and regeneration. I promise to do my best to see this is carried out.
