Peel and District Support Group

Aims and Objectives
When your get up and go has got up and gone, don’t worry! You are not alone. Help is at hand. Our group aims to provide a safe environment where people who have experienced mental health problems and are returning to the community after illness. They can come along with their carers and enjoy a social evening in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
What we do
We meet once a fortnight. We have a number of board games etc to choose from, with options for indoor and outdoor activities (nothing too energetic). We occasionally organise trips out for meals, shows, or the theatre. We have even been known to have short breaks off-Island. Working closely with our members, we aim to please and give an incentive to go out. A very popular event is our Christmas party, a festive celebration with friends fun and food.
How to get involved or request support
Can you spare 2 hours of your time each fortnight? Do you have a friendly, easy going personality and enjoy helping others? Members usually join us following recommendation from their personal support worker. If you wish to know more, please contact us.
