The Commissioners’ last Board meeting took place on Thursday 17 July 2025. At this meeting the Board of Commissioners agreed the following resolutions:

The Board noted the Department for Infrastructure’s 20 mph speed limit consultation is open from 18 June to 22 December 2025. This will permit the Commissioners’ response to be sent in after they have met the Department’s officers and their Minister.

The Board noted the call for evidence by the Legislative Council for the Local Government (Amendment) Bill has been postponed until September 2025 for the submission of this documentation.

Mrs Moughtin and the Town Clerk will attend the Department of Infrastructure Housing Conference which will be held on 30 July 2025.

The Board agreed to provide £400 of financial support to the Yn Chruinnaght Festival held in Peel between 21 and 27 July 2025.

The Board noted the funding for the 2025 Bonfire and Firework Display remains at £6,500.

The Board noted the content of the Isle of Man Superannuation Report prepared by Barnett Waddingham for Peel Town Commissioners. The final fund surplus/deficit on 31 March 2024 is nil (£0.00).

The Board agreed in principle to support the Department of Infrastructure’s installation of a bus stop hardstanding on the roadside verge on the Poortown Road approach to Peel immediately before the Oak Road roundabout. This support was subject to this project being funded by the Department of Infrastructure.

The Board agreed in principle to support the Department of Infrastructure’s reinstatement of a revised bus  service between Peel and the Sound. This support was subject to this service being funded by the Department of Infrastructure.
