The Commissioners in the Events Lead Member Committee have granted permission for Fish Symbols using temporary road marking paint to be installed on the streets leading from the Promenade to Michael Street. The “Follow the Fish to the High Street” initiative is designed to encourage pedestrians to explore the narrow streets and visit Michael Street when visiting Peel.

The Fish Symbol was selected because it has close links to Peel’s fishing and cathedral heritage and can be orientated to give a direction of travel. If this temporary initiative proves success the Commissioners will assess the use of suitable symbols as part of a permanent route waymarking for visitors to the Town.

The installation of the temporary Fish Symbols commenced earlier this week for the TT festival. The use of temporary road marking paint will result in the symbols being visible for approximately a 4 to 6 month period.
